Install the macOS client.

Download the universal package for Intel and Apple Silicon, move Astra Shell to Applications, and prepare to connect to your own host.

Requirements

  • An Intel or Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later
  • A Linux host you can administer over SSH or through your cloud provider's console
  • Git and a stable Rust/Cargo toolchain with Rust 2024 edition support on that host
  • A UDP port reachable from the client; the examples use UDP 4433

Download and install

Download Astra Shell for macOSUniversal · DMG↓
  1. Open the downloaded DMG.
  2. Drag Astra Shell.app into Applications.
  3. Eject the disk image and open Astra Shell from Applications.

First launch

The package is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. macOS may ask you to confirm an app downloaded from the internet; verify the app name, then choose Open.
